On February 1, 2023 TESTIFY will return to the Minneapolis Central Branch of the Hennepin County Library  accompanied by expanded programming

Exhibit

Our hope in creating the exhibit was that by shining a light on our country’s past we could learn to better understand the racial divide of the present. (Alan Page)

Eight public workshops in which participants are coached through the process of advocating for policies or legislation important to them.

Mainstage Events

Special events happening during the course of the two-month exhibition, including the Opening Reception and Workhops led by community leaders.

Testify Tuesdays

Building on the record-breaking success of the original exhibit in 2018, former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice and NFL Hall of Famer Alan Page and his family are again presenting their exhibit of Americana from Slavery to Today --- with renewed calls to action.

Selections from the family’s extraordinary collection of African-American art and artifacts will be on view at the Cargill Gallery, accompanied by TESTIFY Tuesday workshops and mainstage programming to help bridge divides, deepen dialogue and encourage action on justice.

  • “Our hope, in creating the exhibit, was that by shining a light on our country’s past we could learn to better understand the racial divide of the present. At the same time we hoped to illuminate a path to a brighter future, highlighting the strength, persistence, and resilience of the African-American community.”

    – Alan Page

  • “The goal [of the TESTIFY exhibit] is to become conscious of ‘unconscious bias’ and to learn to recognize racism. Similar to a disease, we can then work on curing it, healing what’s broken, and doing the growth we need to do as a country.”

    – Georgi Page, Director, The Diane and Alan Page Collection

Plan to see the exhibit today.
